Description
The STORESHORT command takes currently displayed trace A data
and averages this data with previously stored open data, and stores it
in trace B. This command is used in conjunction with the STOREOPEN
command and must be preceded by it for proper operation. Refer to the
STOREOPEN command description for more information. The state of
the open/short average trace is stored in state register number 8.
NOTE The STORESHORT command is primarily intended for use with a
tracking generator.
A normalization error will occur when the NRL command is executed if
the current spectrum analyzer state is not the same as the state stored
by the last execution of the STORETHRU or STORESHORT command.
This can happen when several open/short or thru calibrations are
performed.
The NRL command recalls the last calibration run. If one of the earlier
short or thru states has been recalled just before executing the NRL
command, then the current and recalled states don't match and the
error occurs. To avoid this error, update the STORETHRU or
STORESHORT state register with the current state before turning
NRL on. The STORETHRU state register is state register 9. The
STORESHORT state register is state register 8. It is a good idea to take
a sweep (TS command) prior to saving the state using the SAVES 8 or
SAVES 9 command.
