23 Sweep
Sweep
Switches the N8201A between continuous-sweep and single-sweep mode. Pressing the
front-panel Single key will also put the N8201A in single-sweep mode, then take a sweep.
Key Path: Sweep
State Saved: Saved in Instrument State
Factory Preset: Continuous
Remote Command:
:INITiate:CONTinuous OFF|ON|0|1
:INITiate:CONTinuous?
:INITiate:[IMMediate]
Remote Command Notes:
This command affects sweep if not in a measurement, and affects trigger when in a
measurement. A “measurement” refers to any of the functions under the MEASURE key.
This corresponds to continuous sweep or single sweep operation when not in a
measurement, and continuous measurement or single measurement operation when in a
measurement.
When not in a measurement, this command does the following:
When ON at the completion of each sweep cycle, the sweep system immediately
initiates another sweep cycle.
When OFF, the sweep system remains in an “idle” state until CONTinuous is set to ON
or an :INITiate[:IMMediate] command is received. On receiving the
:INITiate[:IMMediate] command, it will go through a single sweep cycle, and then return
to the “idle” state.
The query returns 1 or 0 into the output buffer. 1 is returned when there is continuous
sweeping. 0 is returned when there is only a single sweep.
When in a measurement, this command does the following:
When ON at the completion of each trigger cycle, the trigger system immediately
initiates another trigger cycle.
When OFF, the trigger system remains in an “idle” state until CONTinuous is set to ON
or an :INITiate[:IMMediate] command is received. On receiving the
:INITiate[:IMMediate] command, it will go through a single trigger cycle, and then return
to the “idle” state.
The query returns 1 or 0 into the output buffer. 1 is returned when there is continuous
triggering. 0 is returned when there is only a single trigger.
